Our client is a leading innovator in the renewable energy sector, specialising in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, accurate reporting, robust governance, and commercial insight to support sustainable growth.

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Bryanston, offering exposure to a dynamic, project-driven environment within a rapidly expanding organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Maintain financial accounting records and bookkeeping up to trial balance.
Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate financial records.
Prepare and review bank, balance sheet, and fixed asset reconciliations.
Take ownership of project and contract accounting processes.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
Oversee debtors, creditors, and cash flow management activities.
Support tax compliance, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
Assist with external audit processes and audit preparation.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies within the finance function.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across accounting systems.
Collaborate with finance and operational teams to provide meaningful financial insights.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA(SA) qualification preferred.
Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
Experience preparing management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
Experience with debtors, creditors, cash flow management, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Sound understanding of tax legislation, statutory compliance, and audit processes.
Experience supporting external audits and maintaining strong internal controls.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Advantageous

CA(SA) qualification.
Experience within Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Construction, Engineering, Project-Based, or Multi-Entity environments.
Exposure to project accounting and contract accounting.
Experience in a rapidly growing or scaling business environment.
